    Sam Lee Ace

Ace-ing is a habit for Sam Lee.

We posted a year ago to the day about Lee’s hole-in-one in Ashland, and now he’s back with another lefty ace at the Mid Summer Meltdown in Alabama.

Soblue captured Lee throwing a Prodigy 750G A3 on the 240-foot hole 5 during the final round. Lee would go on to finish third by one stroke.

  12. In The Bag Video Ends In Engagement

Kona Panis Colten Montgomery In The Bag Proposal

As 2020 Waco Annual Charity Open winner Colten Montgomery finished up a joint “In The Bag” video with partner and 2021 WACO champion Kona Panis, Montgomery pulled out one final disc with a special question.

“I actually think I’ve got one more, one of the most important discs in my bag, and I think to Kona,” started Montgomery, before going into a marriage proposal and dropping to a knee.

After accepting the proposal, Panis admitted she was not expecting to get engaged.

“I was like, ‘What do you mean? Those are all of your drivers,'” said Panis.

  18. Ohn Scoggins Throws Career-Best Rated Round

Ohn Scoggins. Photo: Alyssa Van Lanen – PDGA

Ohn Scoggins has been playing PDGA-sanctioned events for more than a decade, and has top five finishes at Pro Worlds and Elite Series events in her resume. Scoggins is far from done in her career, however, and still finding ways to up her game.

Playing in the Conejo Disc Golf Pro/Am on Sunday in Thousand Oaks, California, Scoggins set a new career-high round rating, with a 15-under par showing at Rabbit Flat Disc Golf Course coming in as an unofficial 1050. Her previous career high round rating was 1015, set at the 2015 Phoenix Ladies Open. If the 1050 rating holds, she’ll be one of only a handful of women, along with Paige Pierce and Catrina Allen, to have an official 1050 in their rating detail.

    Pickard Park

Twelve players from the Open Women’s division remained on the course when round 1 play was suspended at the Des Moines Challenge due to darkness. The final three cards will resume play with a shotgun start at 9 am CT Saturday. Round 2 will still be played Saturday.

Paige Pierce and Kristin Tattar currently lead the event at 4-under par. Pierce has played 14 holes to 15 holes for Tattar. Jessica Weese is the clubhouse leader at even par.

Several severe weather delays, including hail, early in the afternoon pushed the Open Women’s tee times back hours on Friday. Thunderstorms remain in the forecast for Des Moines on Saturday.

    James Conrad Throw-In Pro Worlds

Ultiworld Disc Golf’s coverage of the 2021 PDGA Pro World Championships is presented by Skybreed Discs, a top online retailer and preferred vendor of the 2021 Ledgestone Insurance Open, and Aria Discs, a new disc golf brand making discs designed for beginners.

James Conrad forced a playoff with Paul McBeth on a 250-foot throw-in on hole 18 at The Fort during the final round of the 2021 PDGA Pro World Championship.

Was it the biggest shot in disc golf history? Given the circumstances it’s in the conversation, and worthy of the “Holy Shot” designation.

Similar to Ricky Wysocki’s ace at the 2o17 Utah Open, Sarah Hokom got to close out her fourth round of 2021 PDGA Pro Worlds at Mulligans in style with an ace on hole 18.

Hokom threw a signature forehand with an Axiom Fireball on the 207-foot water carry to find chains and finish the day at 5-under. The eagle helped Hokom maintain her seventh place position by one stroke over Ohn Scoggins at 2-under par total and broke a seven hole par streak.
