Three-time Finnish Champion Leo Piironen won’t be on the market this offseason as he preemptively signed a 2-year extension with Discmania to keep him with the company through 2020.

“We wanted to do an extension before the previous contract would have expired so we came out with the new deal,” Piironen said in a statement. “This kind of action from a sponsor is really something else and it gains my respect.”

Dynamic Discs will have another woman on tour this year as Missy Gannon was signed to a 1-year extension and promoted to the Touring Team.

“Just over a year and a half ago I was an amateur player and they took a chance on me then,” Gannon told Ultiworld Disc Golf. “Now, as a professional, they want me on their tour team. It wasn’t difficult to convince them of the importance of growing the FPO field on tour and how I would like to add my name to that list. They’ve really got my back.”

  8. 5-Year Innova Contract For Wysocki

While not all details about Ricky Wysocki’s new Innova deal may be known, we do now know he’s signed a 5-year contract to keep him with the manufacturer through 2023.

“The 5-year agreement means longevity,” Wysocki said. “It also helps set a precedent for long term contracts in the sport, which I feel could help more young players pursue disc golf as a profession.”

Rumors began swirling when Reid Frescura was photographed holding a Buzzz late last year that he would be leaving Latitude 64, and the gossip became official when Frescura announced his move to Discraft for 2019.

“It feels good to be representing a company from my home state,” Frescura said. “I’m looking forward to hitting the tour hard this year with Mr. Andrew Marwede.”

  10. WATCH: Frozen Discs Explode Against Wall

    Legacy Frozen Discs

Here’s something you never knew you needed.

Steve Rico and Legacy Discs decided to test the durability of their product by freezing different plastics in liquid nitrogen and throwing the discs against their factory wall. As you can imagine, when some of the plastics reach -109 degrees Fahrenheit and then meet a wall at high velocity, they disintegrate in dramatic fashion.

Kudos to Legacy, as their Pinnacle and a test batch of plastic actually survived the extreme QA.
