Calvin Heimburg Extends Innova Deal for Five Years

Since the start of the 2022 season, Calvin Heimburg has been hotly discussed as a big target for a manufacturer with his Innova deal set to expire at the end of this year. Innova isn’t taking any chances with letting Heimburg get to “free agency.”

The sport’s biggest disc manufacturer announced that Heimburg, after entertaining other offers, has re-signed on a five year endorsement deal that runs through the end of 2027.

“With Calvin’s help, we have created discs that players everywhere have fallen in love with,” Innova wrote in a press release. “Calvin’s Tour Series Halo Destroyer has become one of our most popular discs and his new Tour Series Toros—which he co-developed with Dave Dunipace—are on their way to becoming just as successful. With Innova’s help, Calvin has grown into one of the greatest players of his generation. We cannot wait to see what the next five years will bring!”

As is typical with Innova contracts, no details have been publicly released besides the length of the contract term. Most Innova pros earn a monthly stipend, performance bonuses, and $4-5 per disc royalties on Signature or Tour Series disc sales. Some pros with especially popular molds, like Nate Sexton’s signature Firebird, have negotiated larger royalties over time.

Other top MPO pros like Paul McBeth and Ricky Wysocki are earning more than $1,000,000 a year in total compensation. Heimburg is Innova’s flagship MPO touring player: only McBeth’s 10 year Discraft contract and Simon Lizotte’s 5 year Discmania contract match or exceed Heimburg’s in length. Innova previously signed a five year contract with Ricky Wysocki, but he broke the contract to sign with Dynamic Discs at the beginning of 2022.

“I think Innova matches up with me super well as a player,” said Heimburg. “I can just completely focus on disc golf. I don’t have to worry about anything else besides going out and playing the game that I love.”

The new Heimburg contract was negotiated by Xander Kirby of Beacon Sports Management.
