Welcome to Ultiworld Disc Golf’s mailbag!
The mailbag is for subscribers only, which helps keep me committed to writing it every week. It will reward subscribers with a weekly column they can count on. And it will allow us to offer a free one-month Mini subscription — which includes access to our Discord server, bonus Upshot podcast segments, exclusive articles, the Cash Line newsletter, and more — for the best question, email, or comment we get and publish in the Mailbag. If you’re already a subscriber, you get a free extra month (or a discount). If you’re not, you can come in and check out the benefits.
You can email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions, comments, ideas — whatever you’ve got.
Q: For the Champions Cup, they are only selling around 400 tickets per day, due to limitations on the number of spectators that can fit in and around the WR Jackson course. It looks like both weekend days are going to sell out, and all the VIP tickets sold out a while ago.
Is this enough tickets for a major championship? If not, what should the PDGA do to make it possible for more spectators to attend?
– Jack F.
A: We have to consider these questions from a variety of angles: short term spectator goals, long term spectator goals, the capacity of wooded courses, and how to develop courses in the future. Let’s dig in.
