Ultiworld Disc Golf’s 2018 Ace of the Year voting is presented by Friction Gloves; all opinions are those of the author. Check out our review of Friction’s DG Gloves here.
If there’s anything we can take away from the final four contestants in the Ace of the Year bracket it’s that people voting appreciate a well-filmed and good line through the woods. The two lowest “seeds” have made it all the way to semis to face two more underdogs. Well guess what? Throw the ranks out the window, it’s time to vote for your finalists.
#16 Chandler Fry vs. #12 Paul Ulibarri
Slightly uphill, through a tunnel, and with a gallery. Chandler Fry deserves this ace at the Canadian Championship, and celebrates accordingly.
Paul Ulibarri hangs this forehand out high and wide over a creek to smash chains at the Texas State Championship.
#15 A.J. Carey vs. #11 Margaret Sassaman
The leading vote-getter through two rounds, A.J. Carey’s skip at USDGC hole 1 is a strong contender to move on.
Do not sleep on Margaret Sassaman though, this hyzer line at a Women’s Global Event has been a force as well.
