Update: Pierce Playing Beaver State Fling Despite Injury

Defending women's world champion has not played since the Masters Cup

Post updated on June 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. PDT: Paige Pierce has decided to play through the injury. Ultiworld Disc Golf regrets the error.

Paige Pierce continues to nurse an injury to her hand and will not play at this weekend’s Beaver State Fling, two sources confirmed to Ultiworld Disc Golf.

The defending Professional Disc Golf Association Women’s World Champion sustained the injury sometime after last month’s Masters Cup and has not played since. She was a late scratch from the St. Jude Disc Golf Charity Invitational but was seen at Milo McIver State Park practicing today.

This will mark the third straight year Pierce has not played at the Beaver State Fling. She has come in second place in three out of her four career appearances at the event.
