Heather Young, one of the breakout stars of the 2020 disc golf season, has been promoted to Prodigy’s top tier of sponsorship and signed an early extension that will keep her with the company through 2022.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my disc golf journey with Prodigy’s support!” she told Ultiworld Disc Golf. “It feels amazing being asked to join the core team, and I can’t wait for all the new opportunities!”

Young, just 18 years old, had some strong finishes in limited touring in 2019 but ramped up her time on the road considerably, competing in six DGPT regular season events, the DGPT Championship, and the Women’s National Championship. Her third place finish at WNC, the lone major of the year, was a highlight, but she consistently placed near the top of the leaderboard through the season, including podium finishes at the Ledgestone Insurance Open and MVP Open.

She was under contract with Prodigy through 2021 entering this offseason, but, with the promotion, extended the deal for an extra year. She plans to compete at most Elite Series events in 2021 except for the west coast swing.
