After two decades sponsored by Innova Discs, three-time world champion Des Reading has signed a new sponsorship deal with Mint Discs in 2022.
The Austin-based manufacturer has been slowly expanding its footprint; this is their first significant sponsorship of a professional player.
“When the opportunity presented itself to work with Des in 2022, we knew we were all in from the start,” said Mint Discs CEO Zach Jansen in a statement. “We have always been in awe of Reading’s commitment to the sport in terms of her overall contribution. Very few are in her category as an all time great.”
Reading has played fewer tournaments in recent years due to a hip injury. She recently underwent hip replacement surgery and is planning a return to a full touring schedule in 2022, including DGPT events, multiple Majors, and more. “I feel stronger than ever,” said Reading. “I am ready to experience and contribute in this new phase of disc golf.”
She is one of the winningest players in disc golf history, having claimed three pro world titles, 5 US women’s titles, and 30 Elite Series victories, a record in the sport.
