Des Moines Challenge: Open Women’s Round 1 Play Suspended

Pickard Park

Twelve players from the Open Women’s division remained on the course when round 1 play was suspended at the Des Moines Challenge due to darkness. The final three cards will resume play with a shotgun start at 9 am CT Saturday. Round 2 will still be played Saturday.

Paige Pierce and Kristin Tattar currently lead the event at 4-under par. Pierce has played 14 holes to 15 holes for Tattar. Jessica Weese is the clubhouse leader at even par.

Several severe weather delays, including hail, early in the afternoon pushed the Open Women’s tee times back hours on Friday. Thunderstorms remain in the forecast for Des Moines on Saturday.
