Steve West is a former actuary who attempted to leave spreadsheets behind by taking up disc golf. Instead, he brought his yen for statistics into the theory of course design. He is a Senior Designer with the Disc Golf Course Designers group, having designed dozens of courses in non-park settings. Steve also serves on the PDGA Rules Committee and the PDGA Game Development Team.
