Q: OK, right off the bat I’m just going to say I know that I’m wrong in my opinion. I’ve had this debate with many friends and fellow disc golfers and even discussed it with a few friends/family who are disc golf adjacent through me but don’t follow the sport. No one agrees with me and I recognize I am in a very small minority but hear me out!
I’m going to defend USDGC as the top event in the sport (and therefore best major), and I don’t think it’s even close. First, we’ll eliminate the non-majors because…well, they aren’t majors. The only ones that could even come close would be Maple Hill and GMC, both because of their history, longevity, fantastic courses, great fan bases (MH probably being the best in the sport), but without the Major designation, they just don’t rise to the top.
