Seppo Paju won his shot of the year bracket by the largest margin, and did so by basically doing the impossible. Getting a challenging eagle in Delaware earned Paju the 2018 Air Shot of the Year.
At 860 feet, the 17th hole at Iron Hill is not the longest par 5 by any measure. It is, however, full of trees and features a tricky dogleg about halfway down the fairway. We could have chosen either of Paju’s first two shots here, but decided the second shot to get him to the mound inside the circle would be the best example of the power and finesse.
Paju still had to shape a shot around a turn before accessing the bucket, and made it look easy. After converting his eagle putt, it was reported that Paju had carded the first known 3 on the long pin position.
