There was a short period of time yesterday when, surprisingly, we were facing the possibility of an Air Shot of the Year final round without Simon Lizotte. Jennifer Allen and Nicholas Masters, riding a strong social media push as the underdogs, were both ahead of the German phenom, who was widely viewed as a lock to win the competition. It was a startling development that would have thrown the year end voting for a loop.
But late in the day, Lizotte clawed back. His Glass Blown Open tap-in eagle mounted a charge and triumphed over Allen, while Masters held on with his Vibram Open pole hit. That leads us to here: the final poll for Air Shot of the Year. Can the young Florida pro complete an unlikely upset, or will Lizotte fulfill his destiny? You decide.
