Top shots from the sport's top players and video producers

Even though the final round of the Dynamic Discs Glass Blown Open was called off because of numerous lightning strikes throughout the day, there were still plenty of electrifying highlights from the first two rounds of the event. The GBO has built its ‘fan first’ reputation on delivering high-quantity and quality media each year, and 2017 was no exception, with SmashboxxTV, Jomez Productions and Central Coast Disc Golf all on hand to deliver video to the masses.
A Convocation of Eagles
There were 15 eagles combined during the two rounds of play. Of the 10 eagles carded at Jones East in round two, Simon Lizotte got 30 percent of them. Overall, he bagged 20 percent of all the eagles at the event. While other players managed eagles on holes 4 and 5 at Jones East, Lizotte’s third eagle, on the 720-foot hole 9, was truly something to behold.

Yeah, that last one isn’t a shot anyone else in the field is even considering, and not only does he go for it, but he ends up six feet from the pin. None of the copious OB on the hole even came into play.
Lizotte’s eagles weren’t the only ones caught on camera. Paul McBeth got one of his own on hole 6, avoiding the low ceiling while going up and over the hill and missing all the other obstacles:
His shot was so good, it somehow managed to slip under a rock on the green:
From the good tomfoolery to the unfortunate, here’s Cam Todd’s almost throw-in eagle during round 1:
While the baskets at Eagle Disc Golf Course at Olpe Lake were unkind to Todd, they worked out just fine for Jennifer Allen, who — let’s face it — deserves an eagle nod here for throwing one in for 2 on the 510-foot hole 4:

Jennifer wasn’t the only Allen throwing long shots out in Kansas: Catrina Allen parked the 370-foot hole 8 at Jones East for an easy birdie:
Hannah Leatherman got in on the long distance, too, throwing her Katana inside the circle and then making the birdie putt on hole 17 at Jones East, setting her up for a share of the win:

While the rest of the competitors in the Open Women’s field were putting on a distance showcase, Lisa Fajkus was maintaining her third place finish with excellent putting during round 2. She didn’t miss a putt at Jones East until the 15th hole and only missed four on the round. Here’s a collection of her best putts from the round, including her attempt on hole 18 from well outside the circle that just missed by inches:
Speaking of excellent performances, we’ve saved the best for last: Paige Pierce’s 1022-rated round at Olpe Lake. It’s impossible to consolidate that round into a few clips, so we’ll leave you with one before encouraging you to just go watch the whole thing:
There are a lot more highlights from Pierce and the rest of the players featured in the GBO coverage. You can check it all out in the playlists below:
