McBeth Withdraws From Green Mountain Championship

Paul McBeth has withdrawn from the Green Mountain Championship after sustaining a back injury midway through today’s second round, per UDisc Live. He had been at 5-over par for the round and stopped playing after hole 13.

“Yeah, I hurt it yesterday but didn’t know how bad until today,” McBeth said in a text message. “Couldn’t throw well so tried to play it out but it got too painful. Different spot [than my previous back injury] so I’m hoping it’s not too bad.

“If it was the final day probably would have tried to finish it. Way too much golf left to push it with USDGC next.”

McBeth was referring to the injury he sustained at the 2015 European Open that still hampered him through last season. He currently has no events on his PDGA schedule for the rest of 2017.
