Hall Of Fame Classic Renamed To Honor Disc Golf’s Founding Father

Ed Headrick Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic will now take place every year

In an announcement earlier today, the PDGA revealed that the season-ending Hall of Fame Classic at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia, will have a new name: the Ed Headrick Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic will now honor disc golf’s founding father, and it will also become an annual fixture marking the culmination of the National Tour.

“[The move to an annual HOFC] is something that has been requested by the competitors and, more importantly, it just makes sense to have the PDGA National Tour finale at the home of the PDGA,” the organization said in the announcement.

The tournament was originally held every other year, but the new schedule also allows organizers to streamline it with the Disc Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the IDGC. The event will also have a new sponsor this year, as ProActive Sports has hopped on board to present the tournament.
