It was the shot heard ’round the disc golf world, and one that changed the entire makeup of the Konopiště Open.
Trailing Paul McBeth and K.J. Nybo by two shots, Simon Lizotte needed a miracle to stay in contention, and he got it with this 150-foot upshot that mashed the chains for an eagle:
The aggressive move swung the momentum of the final round in Lizotte’s direction.
“I had nothing to lose, so I totally was going for it and that happened,” Lizotte said. “It was of course like one in 100, I think.”
A 40-foot birdie putt and two playoff holes later, and Lizotte was the champion of the Disc Golf World Tour’s second stop.
