The Disc Golf Pro Tour announced today that it will be hosting its annual Championship in Emporia, Kansas for the first time this fall, October 31 through November 3.
Emporia is no stranger to hosting elite tour events, as the home of Dynamic Discs puts on the Glass Blown Open, a PDGA National Tour stop and largest disc golf event in the country, the PDGA Junior World Championships, and was the site of the 2016 PDGA Professional World Championship. DD also joins the DGPT Tour Championship as title sponsor.
What will be new is the course, with the 2019 DGPT Championship being contested on the Jones Gold layout, a 10,000+ foot combination of the well-known Jones East and Jones West courses.
The last two years of the DGPT Championship have been held at the New World Disc Golf complex in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to that, the inaugural tour championship was hosted by Smugglers’ Notch Resort in Vermont in 2016.
