Just as she was at the La Mirada Open and the European Open, Catrina Allen will be the lone woman to play in this week’s United States Disc Golf Championship.
After failing to qualify for the event on Monday, tour sponsor Grip EQ offered one of its wild card spots to Allen, Disc Golf World Tour organizers said in a release earlier today. Allen played three of the previous four DGWT events this season, and comes off of a fourth place tie at the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship in Sabattus, Maine.
This will be Allen’s first USDGC. Sarah Hokom, who earned a berth to the USDGC with her USWDGC victory, declined the invitation, citing scheduling and her previous stance on the DGWT’s single division format.
