The PDGA announced late last week the 2024 A-Tier schedule, along with the complete schedule for the National Amateur Disc Golf Tour and Disc Golf Masters Tour.

There are 225 A-Tiers on the calendar for next year. The first of the year is the NADGT Premier at Red Mountain in Mesa, Arizona, starting January 6th, and the season concludes on December 15th at the South Florida Open in Coconut Creek, Florida.

Here are some notable tournaments and other notes from the A-Tier release:

Las Vegas Challenge is Moving to May

The Las Vegas Challenge, which was dropped from the DGPT next year, is set for May 9-12, placing it on the calendar between two DGPT stops: the Dynamic Discs Open (May 3-5) and OTB Open (May 17-19). The timing makes it much more likely that the tournament will still draw a big contingent of touring professionals, as Las Vegas is on the way from Emporia, Kansas, to Stockton, California.

The tournament is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Some Early Whispers about New DGPT Q-Series

Although the original reference has been edited out of the A-Tier schedule, the Cascade Challenge–a Silver event last season–was initially listed as a “DGPT Q-Series” event for 2024. The Kansas City Wide Open (also a former Silver event) has also posted on Facebook about being a Q-Series event for 2024. Some players on social media have also made references to the Q-Series.

The DGPT has not announced details about the forthcoming Q-Series, but it appears that the Tour will have a more clearly defined qualifying pathway to a Tour Card with a new event series that will effectively replace what was once called the Silver Series. The Q-Series (a name also used by the LPGA for its qualifying tour) will have its own point structure to determine which players are eligible to receive a 2025 Tour Card. More details are expected from the DGPT in the coming weeks.

Disc Golf Masters Tour Sets Schedule

The 2024 Disc Golf Masters Tour — a point series for players 40 and older — is set for 2024. The number of events is dropping from 21 to 17 next year and hits some of the most popular courses in the country — Maple Hill, Milo McIver, Gran Canyon. Cale Leiviska and Ohn Scoggins were the top points earners in MP40 and FP40, respectively, in 2023.

National Amateur Disc Golf Tour Sets Premier Schedule

The NADGT’s top tournaments — their Premier events — were also announced with the A-Tier release. There are 13 Premier events scheduled for next year, and the National Championships are set to be held in Austin, Texas.
