On the course, Kevin Jones had a good Beaver State Fling. He was featured on several rounds of video coverage from JomezPro and Central Coast Disc Golf en route to an 11th place finish and again wrapping the tournament near the top of the division in birdie percentage.
But “Everybody’s Hypeman” did even more to raise his growing profile off the course. Jones joined Ian Anderson to commentate on a couple of the CCDG lead card videos, and had two encounters that have left an impression on the disc golf community.
A Reddit user first told the story of how a helpful Jones was giving spectators rides to the overflow parking at Milo McIver State Park, a good 20-minute walk from tournament HQ. And this was after a third round where Jones didn’t play particularly well and fell off chase card.

We also got to see Jones interacting with the kids. During the final round on hole 16, Jones consulted Briksen Pavlak for help on his disc selection. He would birdie the hole, so we think he got some pretty good caddy help.
