Ultiworld Disc Golf is hiring!
Our reporting continues to become more in-depth as we grow as a website. We are looking to continue that trend as we expand our team by hiring some new staff. And, yes, we mean hiring — these are paid positions. If you are interested in getting involved with a fast-growing, high-quality sports journalism brand, we want to hear from you.
Currently we are most interested in filling the following positions:
Instructional Writers
Ultiworld Disc Golf is looking to expand its instructional content with a weekly series similar to the one on our ultimate side, so we’re looking for writers who can dish out easily digestible, quickly-implemented tips to help fellow players with their game. Do you have a knack for breaking down the nuances of throwing form to make it easier for people to understand? Or are you a master of the mental game? We’re looking to bolster our instructional offerings with writing that can make disc golf more accessible to a wide spectrum of players, from beginners to pros. Ideal candidates will be able to contribute articles twice a month and complement writing with accompanying graphics (photos, drawings, short video, etc.). Interfacing with colleagues and editors to implement long-term planning and execution of instructional content will also be required.
Business Developer
This part-time position will work directly with Ultiworld’s core staff and existing business development team to cultivate our existing client relationships as well as identify new potential clients in the disc golf market.
Primary duties include maintaining communications and relationships with clients and using data to determine pricing and attractive partnership options.
We’re looking for someone interested in learning about online advertising and marketing, but will prefer some amount of experience doing business development. A professional demeanor is a must, as is a willingness to reach out to new potential partners.
The job requires a high level of independence and initiative for variable pay. Salary is negotiable but has traditionally included a monthly stipend and commissions on sales. A working knowledge of disc golf (and the business of disc golf) are strong plusses, but not requisites.
Especially early on, this position will work closely with Ultiworld’s ultimate-focused business developer on projects and learning the ins and outs of the company.
Please send a resume and cover letter to [email protected] to apply.
European Beat Writer
Without a doubt, the burgeoning European disc golf scene warrants more attention. Our European beat writer will produce final tournament recaps of events on the EuroTour and EuroProTour, as well as monitor any developments with PDGA Europe. This is a remote position, with the ideal candidate being based in Europe and covering events from home. Comfort in reaching out to players and maintaining relationships is a key, as post-tournament interviews are a vital component of our style.

Feature Writers
Finally, we’re looking to add a couple more long-form feature writers to our roster, with a particular emphasis on player features and historical pieces. There are a plethora of unique personalities in the sport, and we want those to be highlighted with in-depth pieces that let readers know there is more to a disc golfer than just what they bag or where their next event is on the schedule. Additionally, we want to highlight important moments and players in the sport’s history, which will require both research into the PDGA archives, as well as interviews with people who might not still be on tour, but who have nonetheless had an impact on the sport. Ideal candidates will be able to contribute two times a month.
