Gavin Rathbun was already on a heater during round 1 of the Vintage Open and he capped it off by hitting an ace as he made the turn to the back half of the course.
Rathbun had connected on six consecutive birdies at Old Post Park before hole 10, and his backhand skip ace on the 280-foot hole put him 8-under par for the round. Rathbun wasn’t even done for the day, as he later threw in an eagle on hole 17 from 350 feet.
Rathbun is the early clubhouse leader at 10-under par during round 1 at the DGPT Silver Series event.
