Paul McBeth pushed hard trying to chase down Ricky Wysocki during the final round of the Gentlemen’s Club Challenge, and that push resulted in some fireworks.
Check out McBeth’s ace on hole 13 of the Wildhorse Golf Club’s Innova Course, via The SpinTV and Central Coast Disc Golf:
It was an electric moment in a round filled with them, and McBeth said his performance on the prior hole made him decide to go ace running on the 368-foot par 3 with his Champion Thunderbird.
“I was actually trying to put it in in the basket, because the hole before I just missed a really short putt,” McBeth said. “Basically a gimme in those situations and missed it short, and I knew the only real line on that hole is to go for it…It was run at the basket and play it long, and it just floated in there perfect.”
With the teepad tucked behind a hill, he couldn’t see the shot go in and had to rely on the gallery for an assist.
“I knew it was in as soon as I heard the crowd,” McBeth said.
