Disc Golf Sports Betting Has Arrived in the US

DraftKings, Underdog Fantasy have lines up for the Music City Open.

After years of speculation, legal betting on disc golf has now arrived in the United States. The Disc Golf Pro Tour announced yesterday that daily fantasy sports (DFS) and sports betting was coming online ahead of this weekend’s Music City Open.

The Tour has been building to this moment for years: PrizePicks, a DFS company, offered disc golf lines starting in 2021 but stopped offering them last year after struggling to properly set lines. The Tour signed a partnership agreement with a betting integrity company in April 2024 and recently partnered with Alt Sports Data, a company that provides odds to betting platforms. The DGPT also put out a gambling policy in October 2024 and updated it early this year: it prohibits DGPT employees; touring pros and their coaches; and event staff, including spotters, scorekeepers, and scorers, from wagering on disc golf, sharing inside information, or stroke shaving. Violations of the policy “may include severe penalties up to and including, but not limited to, fines, suspension, and/or banishment from the DGPT for life.”

“We know that for many sports fans, participating in daily fantasy or wagering is part of how they connect with the competition,” said DGPT CEO Jeff Spring in a statement. “We’re excited to see sportsbooks and other gaming platforms open these opportunities to disc golf fans in a way that is aligned with our values of transparency and accountability for all involved. By ensuring these offerings are hosted in a secure and regulated environment, the DGPT is focusing on integrity, player education, and compliance. We’re excited about new ways for fans to engage in the sport, expanding the reach of disc golf, and ensuring that players and events are supported by clear policies and strong safeguards.”

Only a handful of states that offer legal sports betting currently have disc golf approved for wagering; each state has its own process for allowing new sports or leagues onto betting platforms. Here’s a current map of the states where disc golf is available for sports betting and/or DFS:

As of this morning, DraftKings, a sports betting platform, and Underdog Fantasy, a DFS platform, both have lines up for the Music City Open. DraftKings currently only offers winner lines for MPO, seen below:

Underdog Fantasy offers over/under lines on finishing position on the leaderboard, similar to PrizePicks’ former offering:

Sports betting on disc golf has been available in Europe for approximately a year now; the DGPT’s new partnerships have opened up options across North America. And the DGPT’s direct embrace of sports gaming is no surprise: professional sports leagues, after years of shunning gambling, have grown close ties to the sports betting platforms since mobile sports betting was legalized in the United States the gambling industry has become increasingly common since mobile betting began to be legalized in states around the country starting in 2018.

More betting operators in states where disc golf is available for wagering may offer lines in the future: we will update this article over time.
