USWDGC headed to Utah; no update on Champions Cup
February 10, 2025 by Charlie Eisenhood in News

Late last week, the PDGA announced the location of the majority of the 2026 and 2027 Majors, including the hosts of the next two Pro World Championships.
The 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds will be held in Milford, Michigan, at the Kensington Metropark Toboggan Course (home of the Discraft Great Lakes Open) and a “lengthened Black Locust South course.” The Black Locust South course will be stretched from 7,300 to more than 10,000 feet and feature predominantly wooded holes. Nate Heinold, who is the DGLO TD and the President of the PDGA Board of Directors, will be the Tournament Director for the 2026 Worlds, reprising his role from the Virginia World Championships in 2024. Michigan last played host to Pro Worlds in 2008, and Toboggan was last used for a Worlds in 2000.
The 2027 PDGA Pro Worlds will be headed up by Disc Golf Pro Tour CEO Jeff Spring — who last hosted Worlds in Vermont in 2023 — in Portland, Oregon. The two courses — Riverbend Gold at Milo McIver and Glendoveer East — will serve as the courses for this year’s Portland Open on the DGPT. It is a return to a Portland Worlds for the first time since 2014.
USWDGC Headed to Salt Lake City in 2026
The US Women’s Disc Golf Championships will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the first Pro Major in the state since the 2021 World Championships. Noel Covey and Rob Bullen will serve as co-TDs for the event held at the Majestic Course at Brighton Resort.
No bid was awarded for USWDGC in 2027.
No Announcements about Champions Cup
The PDGA did not give any information about the Champions Cup for the next two years. Long-term, the PDGA wants to bring the tournament back to the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia, but course restoration work following the closure of WR Jackson continues.
