2021 world champion returns to first sponsor

One of the offseason’s lingering questions has been answered.
After announcing she’d be leaving her longtime manufacturer sponsor last year, 2021 PDGA Pro Worlds champion Catrina Allen has signed a sponsorship agreement with DGA. Terms of the contract were not immediately disclosed.
“I feel like I’m set up for success. There is no feeling like being on the course knowing your company has your back, knowing they know who you are, and they’re proud of you and they want to see you succeed,” said Allen. “I am honored and excited to be a part of team DGA and I’m really looking forward to becoming a part of the DGA Community.”
Allen had been sponsored by Prodigy since the company began supporting a touring team for the 2013 season. As an amateur, though, Allen was sponsored by DGA. As a professional before moving to Prodigy, Allen was represented by Discraft, which she threw on the way to her first U.S. championship in 2012. Discraft manufactures DGA discs, and DGA-sponsored athletes are often able to carry some Discraft-branded discs.
“We are honored to welcome 2X and reigning World Champion Catrina Allen to Team DGA,” said the company. “Catrina is a world-class athlete and human, and we are so excited to have the opportunity to work with and for her.”
DGA’s previous top talent, Matt Bell, announced he’d be leaving the California company for 2022 and beyond, and was replaced with another marquee MPO name in Andrew Marwede.
