Here Is The 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour Schedule

Mostly the same, though Memorial is replaced by Las Vegas Challenge as season opener.

We’ve got a few weeks left in the 2020 abbreviated disc golf season, but we can already start looking forward to next year with the release of the 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour schedule:

  • Las Vegas Challenge – February 25-28 (Las Vegas, NV)
  • Waco Annual Charity Open March 12-14 (Waco, TX)
  • Jonesboro Open – April 16-18 (Jonesboro, AR)
  • San Francisco Open – May 14-16 (San Francisco, CA)
  • Portland Open – June 4-6 (Portland, OR)
  • Discraft’s Great Lakes Open – July 23-25 (Milford, MI)
  • The Preserve Championship – July 30 – August 1 (Clearwater, MN)
  • Discraft’s Ledgestone Insurance Open – August 5-8 (Peoria, IL)
  • Idlewild Open – August 13-15 (Burlington, KY)
  • MVP Open – September 3-5 (Leicester, MA)
  • Green Mountain Championship – September 9-12 (Jeffersonville, VT)
  • Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship – October 14-17 (Charlotte, NC)

The 2021 schedule is nearly identical to the originally announced pre-pandemic 2020 schedule, though The Memorial Championship is dropping off as the first event of the year and being replaced by the Las Vegas Challenge, which served as a National Tour stop in 2019. Additionally, the Preserve Championship in Minnesota, which was a late addition to the 2020 Tour after the cancellation of the San Francisco Open and Portland Open, will return in 2021 to increase the number of Tour tournaments to 12.

The other late 2020 addition — the Dynamic Discs Open in Kansas — will not be back on the Tour. “We also very much wanted to return to Emporia for a second Dynamic Discs Open,” said DGPT CEO Jeff Spring. “However, the schedule is extremely tight and simply offers few opportunities for additional Elite Series. That said, we look forward to being at the Glass Blown Open in late April. We plan to be back for the DDO in years to come.”

The Pro Tour will run alongside the PDGA National Tour, which was fully canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. All six NT stops are returning in 2021 as originally planned for this year. There will be three Majors in 2020 — Pro Worlds in Utah, the European Open in Finland, and USDGC (South Carolina) / US Women’s Disc Golf Championship (California).

DGPT events are also being given a distinct Elite Series Tier designation with the PDGA, which matches the National Tour. Previously, DGPT events were recognized as an elite series but were only given A-Tier status.
