Seppo Paju announced on Instagram today that he would be withdrawing from this week’s European Open and Presidents Cup.

“I have decided to take few weeks off of playing tournaments and practice instead,” Paju said. “I haven’t been playing the way I want to and I feel like this is the best thing I can do. I’m aiming to be playing again at World Championships in August.”

Paju will be replaced on the Presidents Cup Team Europe roster by Sylvain Gouge.

After a third place finish at the Disc Golf Pro Tour’s Portland Open and a second place showing at the Beaver State Fling, Paju returned to Europe and finished outside the cash in 40th at the Tyyni and in a tie for 33rd at the Estonian Open over the weekend, 21 shots behind first place.
