Minnesota News Station Airs Segment On State’s “Disc Golf Mecca”

Blue Ribbon Pines and Vision Quest featured

Paul McBeth’s appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter wasn’t the only recent instance of disc golf getting some time in the media spotlight this week.

On July, 8th WCCO, Minnesota’s CBS affiliate channel aired a news story about the Twin Cities burgeoning “disc golf mecca” past the north metro area.

The video highlights two courses that are well known nationally, Blue Ribbon Pines and Vision Quest, both of which, the reporter says, “rival any other in the country.” The report features Blue Ribbon Pines owner Ray Jordan and Vision Quest co-designer and owner Mike Rivard discussing how their courses came to be.

Blue Ribbon Pines played host to the final round of the famed Majestic, arguably Minnesota’s most notable annual disc golf tournament, earlier this month on July 1st.

Add this to the ever-increasing list of the sport’s appearances in mainstream news outlets. If you think your area has a “disc golf mecca” of its own, why not take the idea to your local station?
