FORECAST: Vibram Final Set For Blustery Conditions

Pack your rain gear.

Aside from the action on the course, rain, clouds, and wind will be the story of the day during the final round of the Vibram Open.

The remnants of Hurricane Harvey will continue to track through the Northeast, providing the chance for abundant rainfall across the Worcester, Massachusetts, area. Rain should begin to fall late Saturday night and last throughout the day on Sunday. There is a chance that a brief window of dry weather takes place between 9 and 11 a.m., but I wouldn’t be shocked to see persistent showers as well.

The trajectory of Harvey has changed a bit since the forecast I provided a few days ago. As such, easterly wind will be likely across the area, hitting 10 to 15 mph throughout the day. Wind gusts should increase throughout the final as the center of low pressure approaches the region. The persistent clouds, rain, and wind will also do quite a bit of damage in the temperature department, starting in the low-to-mid 50s but only recovering to around 60° during the afternoon. Combine that with blustery conditions, and you’ve got yourself quite a raw championship Sunday.
