It seems like today should be a good time to address some of our recent changes so we’ll spark up this thread in case you missed it in an earlier post.

Hey everyone, I appreciate the concerns and questions. I can assure everyone that the ship is not sinking at Dynamic Discs. I can also assure you all that this ‘chatter’ is exactly what we expected. The tour level player expectations have changed and evolved significantly over the last couple of years. While we want to have a large team and family atmosphere throughout our entire team, it is clear that money is what is most important at the tour team level and we certainly understand that. The new standard expectation at this level has made us realize that we needed to make a change to our tour team structure. These changes have been tough to make on a personal level but on a business level, it is what we feel has to be done.

We have made the decision to reduce the overall number of tour team players. The main reasons for this are so that we can effectively market, promote, and advertise our tour team players and compensate them accordingly to what has become the new standard. At the end of the day, there is only so much money to go around and there are only so many players that we can effectively market and promote. We want a tour team that feels supported in all aspects and we couldn’t continue to support as large of tour team as we had.

And to address the sinking ship concern one more time….the winter is typically a time of the year when we are looking to reduce the number of staffing hours because things are slower. This winter, we have been in a position where we have been asking our staff to work extra and new hires have come on board. This is the opposite of a sinking ship from the way that I see things. It has been exciting to see the sport continue to grow and we greatly value and appreciate being a small piece of the disc golf community. We’ll save the big contracts for the big dogs and we’ll narrow our focus so that we can effectively continue our mission to grow disc golf and a lot of that focus is geared towards our team members that are ambassadors and promoters.

From all of us at Dynamic Discs, we appreciate the opportunity to be in a position to help grow the sport!
